Siqi “Tyler” Liu

I am Siqi Liu, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, advised by Prof. Raouf Boutaba. My research focuses on SmartNICs, programmable network infrastructure, and network performance modelling and optimization, with broader interests in network architecture and security.

Before joining Waterloo, I completed an M.S. in Computer Science at UCLA in 2023, advised by Prof. Lixia Zhang. At the UCLA Internet Research Lab, I worked on security, distributed logging, certificate management, and multiparty signing for Named Data Networking.

I received bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from UCLA in 2022, graduating summa cum laude. I have also worked on programmable transport and congestion control for Intel Infrastructure Processing Units.
